CLGS Certification
(Certified Lubricating Grease Specialist)
NLGI gave the first CLGS (Certified Lubricating Grease Specialist) examination at the Annual Meeting which was held in San Antonio, Texas, on November 1, 2005. Twenty-six individuals sat for the exam. (Click here for a list of Certified Lubricating Grease Specialists)
NLGI will offer the certification exam for the third time on October 31, 2006 at the 73rd Annual Meeting, Walt Disney World Swan, Orlando, Florida, at 2:00 p.m.. The fee for taking the exam is $200 for individuals employed by a member company, and $250 for those not employed by a member company.
Certification is an indicator that the individual possesses a high level of expertise in the field of grease. NLGI recognizes CLGS certified individuals as grease industry experts. CLGS certification will serve as a useful tool for employers to screen potential employees and for OEMs and end users to ensure that consultants and suppliers are qualified to make grease related recommendations.
Exam participation is available for any individual who has worked in the grease industry and has attained a high level of expertise in this field.
